| I am looking for green semi-permanent or demi-permanent hair color in Montreal. I have tried numerous Pharmaprix's and Jean Coutu's, but they don't have green. I'd prefer not Manic Panic, something of more salon quality, or Punky Colour as I have used them in the past. Does anyone know where I can get this without having a license? Thank you very very much. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| It seems this has been asked before, but I can’t find it in the memories; where can I get a VHS tape burned onto dvd? Thanks!
Edit: After a little more Googling, I found an ad on www.usedmontreal.com, with someone offering this service. They offered an email address, but no location. If anyone else is interested, leave a comment and I will let you know what/if they respond. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| I am looking to make slip covers for a few pieces in my living room, so I need some nice, durable fabric. I was thinking a denim-type material in a solid colour. I am still pretty flexible on colours as long as it's attractive.
That being said, does anyone have any idea where I can get cheap, but still nice, bolts of fabric in the city (I think I'll ned a lot).
I know St.Hubert, Fabricville, WalMart, and maybe even salvation army/renaissance/Village Valeur... But am I missing something? | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| hi guys! so, I'm without a job for the rest of the summer but I'd really like some extra cash.. I'm going to Toronto next week, and returning to my home province of PEI for two weeks at the end of August. With that said, do any temporary jobs exist? Obviously, I couldn't take a job at this point and tell them I am leaving so much..Could anyone point me in any direction/throw out any advice? another question, I posted this a few weeks ago, and my ex-employer still hasn't given me my Record of Employment or 4%, after I have asked them multiple times.. is there anything that could be done? Thanks! I love this community so much,

| Hello again! I posted here yesterday and got such a great response that I though I'd ask one more question. My husband and I will be arriving in the city around 5-6pm on a Sunday evening and will be looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. Are there any places in the area of our hotel that you might recommend? Thanks in advance.

| First post to this great community....so nervous. :)
Anyway, my mom's looking for kitschy Canadian souvenirs that aren't too expensive to give out as gifts. She already got keychains, so looking more towards kitchen stuff such as tablecloths or whatever.
Anyone got recommendations for stores or specific items? It'd be totally appreciated. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| Hello stars and starlets of the Montreal LJ community! I was wondering if anyone could help my friend and I out.
We're wondering if anyone knows where we can purchase Copic Markers? We used to buy them at Art-Tec on the corner of Parc and Sherbrooke, but the store has sadly gone out of business and so far we've had no luck at any other art shop in the area.
Distance isn't too much of a problem, but it would be helpful if the place was accessible via the Metro.
Thanks a bunch! :)

| I recently moved in and tried applying everywhere at the Eaton Centre and surrounding underground malls without success. I was wondering if anyone was aware of clothing/book/whatever stores that are currently hiring. I'd prefer downtown or the eastern part of the island seeing as I live in Rosemont. The West Island is definitely way too far since I don't have a car.
I speak fluent French so that's not a problem.
Thanks! | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |
| Any recommendations for very thourough french tutoring, especially for preparation in high school exit exams? Both myself and my younger brother have only one and a half years of french and had gone to MAC, but we would see different teachers every month. I would appreciate any recommendations for any private or public programs that have very thorough, dedicated teachers. Location is no problem, although proximity to a subway would be great. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I was reading Ra Ra Riot's blog on Facebook, when I came around to a Funny or Die video of Alicia Silverstone & Alanis Morissete. It features 'Where does the good go' but only for a few seconds. </div>

I always get great evaluations as a customer service agent in call centres, so please let me know if anyone is hiring... I'll do you proud !
Actual references\people hiring and contact numbers would be uber cool. I have just started looking today :). You can email me too : maskaoru at yahoo dot ca
And now for some mid-week fun :

| Somebody's birthday is coming up and I wanna take our gang to a Japanese Steakhouse In Montreal. The only one I've ever been to was Shogun on Taschereau, so I'll need your help.
I found the following:
Kobe Grillades Japonaises, 6720 Rue Sherbrooke Restaurant Toyo Grillade, 2155 Rue De La Montagne Beni Hana Grill, 5666 Sherbrooke E
Any recommandations? Any other place not on the list?
Thank you Montreal! | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Bonjour,

| Hello :-)
We're planning on visiting your fair city again this summer, flying in from the UK. (We live in Manchester, for reference, but would probably have to travel to Newcastle, Liverpool or London to fly to Canada as our local airport is made of expensive fail. Sigh, I remember when I could fly direct to Dorval for $600...)
Now, cheap flights direct to Montreal from the UK this summer seem pretty much nonexistant *cries*, so we have three options:
-fly in to Toronto -fly in to New York (there seem to be plenty of flights there from London) -fly in somewhere else not yet mentioned
Can anyone advise me on the easiest way to get to Montreal, basically? If we're coming from TO, should be take the train or an internal flight? And is it worth the journey from New York or would we be better off flying somewhere else (I've been quoted Hamilton, Ontario, as an example)?
Any and all advice welcome.
Merci!

| My husband and I will be visiting Montreal in a few days. The hotel we'll be staying in doesn't have a gym, and I'm wondering how safe it would be for me to run around the neighborhood surrounding our hotel? (I'd probably go out early in the morning.) Here's a like to where we'll be staying.

In case you can't read that - this jam goes from 2-6 and will be hosted by Chris Gheran and the Graveyard Gang, with their special guest Dean Morrison!
So if you're in the area, drop by! It promises to be a good time!
